When Tanveer, my partner at Oh Snap Smile got married, we knew we had to do something special for the photobooth. Tanveer went over to scout out his venue, Gary’s Loft, and reported back that Gary’s is often rented out as a photoshoot location, so they had an assortment of interesting items, including a bed. A bit reminiscent of a project that I shot a couple years ago, we decided to set up the photobooth camera right above the bed. Our friend (and Oh Snap Smile resident designer) Sarah Goldschadt sewed some amazing pillows, and our friend and innovator Chris snuck in some Wrap-a-Nap pillows to top things off.
We had no idea what to expect…. We know that we have some adventurous friends who would probably have a bit of fun with it. But we were still surprised at the end of the night to discover that guests had snapped over 1200 photos!
The project has been getting some love on the internets, with Glamour saying “Finally! A Seriously Awesome New Twist on Wedding Photo Booths”, Brooklyn Bride saying “Best vantage point for a photobooth EVER”, and Martha Stewart saying “Pretty much the cutest photobooth ever.”
